Hair That Holds Its Shape in Any Weather
Humidity, wind and rain are not going away. Here is how to style for them instead.
Every hairdresser we asked said the same thing: stop fighting the weather and start planning for it. A style that depends on perfect conditions is a style you will give up on by Wednesday.
- Wet and humid: smooth with a little oil on the lengths and a leave-in cream, then tie it back loosely. A low chignon looks intentional and survives drizzle.
- Windy: choose a style with some structure. A sleek low ponytail or a plait will stay put when loose hair will not.
- Dry and cold: static is the enemy. Rinse your hair with cool water, switch to a hydrating conditioner and keep a wooden comb in your bag.
And whatever the weather, avoid piling on product. The most reliable style is almost always the simplest one.
